Dyrrah City Football Academy has started its first football season, where children and young people of different age groups have been registered. In the special ceremony that preceded the sessions, this time on the steps of the “Olympic Park” sports facility, dozens of children and parents were present who saw the project closely and communicated with some of the specialized trainers for the young age groups, and with a luggage of accumulated by an elite club like Manchester City.
This new academy has officially opened the football season, where training is being conducted by the coaches of the Citizens club. The Manchester City Football School is an investment that is added to the city of Durrës, creating the basis for the football talents of Albania and the region.
The last stop was attended by 50 children led by “head coach” Klevis Dalipi, but also other names of Albanian football such as Albano Doraci, Egland Haxho, Emirjeta Ndoci, Alaudin Kurushi, or the former goalkeeper of the Albanian national team Isli Hidi. With the unconditional support of Durrës Yacht Marina, this academy distributed 17 scholarships to the children present.
The presence of Jorgina Busquets, the managing director of Education through football under the umbrella of “City”, but also the encouraging words of the mayor of Durrës, show the serious commitment to this project in the coastal city, which is leading to another stage, the initiative of the government and the Ministry of Education and Sports.
This initiative of “Dyrrah City Football Academy” also affects the further promotion of the coastal city, as a touristic, cultural, sports destination and economic development platform for the city.
